Commissioner Carl Ford, a native of Kannapolis and Rowan County, is a local broadcaster and President of Ford Broadcasting, Inc. which operates two local radio stations covering Rowan County.  Commissioner Ford has been in the broadcasting industry for over 25 years, following his start in textiles. 

A Graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, Commissioner Ford also completed additional studies at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and the N.C. College of Textile Technology in Belmont.

Commissioner Ford currently resides in China Grove with his wife, Angela.  They have four children; Anthony, Lindsay, Candace, and Taylor as well as three grandchildren; Makenzi, Ashton and Avery.  Commissioner Ford and his family are active in their church, Truth Temple in Kannapolis.

Prior to his election to the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Ford actively served on other committees such as the Department of Social Services Board, Rowan County Planning Board, member of the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, Village Fest (Kannapolis) Committee, Southern Rowan Historical Society, China Grove Board of Trade, Community Child Protection Team, Law Enforcement Protocol Committee and the Southern Gospel Music Association.

Commissioner Ford is currently serving his first term on the Rowan County Board of Commissioners.
