Chairman Mitchell works for the Rowan-Salisbury School System at East Rowan High School, and is married to Allison.  They have one daughter, Alexandria.   He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwell

Chairman Mitchell graduated from East Rowan High School in 1994, and attended Catawba College.  Mr. Mitchell graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and American Government in 1998.

Chairman Mitchell was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2002, and is currently serving his third term that will end in December of 2014.
