MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

The Rowan County Maintenance Department is responsible for 30 County owned facilities. The main responsibility for the staff is building and ground maintenance. Other department responsibilities are:

• Building Maintenance: Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other various duties.
• Ground Maintenance: Responsible for a variety of yard maintenance.
• Election Equipment: Pick-up and deliver elections equipment for all voting presents.
• Street Signs: Design, install, and maintain county street signs. All requests must contact 704-216-8600 (Rowan County Planning Department).
• Remolding and Carpentry: Building walls, shelves, cabinets, and other county needs.
• Work Request: Through the county track-it system we receive work request from department directors. During work hours if an emergency occurs please complete a track-it request and call Joni Hess at 704-216-8106. After hours contact the emergency pager for maintenance 704-638-6929.
• Winter Weather: Maintain sidewalks and entrances to county facilities.
• Surplus Equipment: Pick-up and assist with the equipment during county auctions.
