
Our Mission
To provide comprehensive services for the common good
through effective community preparedness and management of adverse events.
Our department is comprised of three divisions: Emergency Medical (EMS), Fire, and Emergency Management/Homeland Security, each providing unique and specialized levels of public safety services to the citizens of Rowan County & it's municipalities. In addition, the department is charged with coordinating emergency activities with the County's Enhanced 9-1-1 Telecommunications Center, the Rowan County Rescue Squad, and with other public or private allied agencies providing emergency services within the county.

The members of the Emergency Services Department extends it's profound sympathy to the families of Salisbury Fire Department Firefighters Victor Isler and Justin Monroe who bravely gave the ultimate sacrifice in battling a fire on March 7 at Salisbury Millworks.
Our thoughts and prayers are extended also to all our brothers and sisters of the Salisbury, Spencer, and Miller Ferry Fire Departments
during this most difficult time and tragic loss.
