Rowan County Ambulance Billing and Collections
The Rowan County Ambulance Billing and Collections office attempts to maintain the fees charged for service at the lowest level possible to provide adequate pre-hospital emergency care to the citizens and visitors of Rowan County.
Rowan County Ambulance Billing and Collections will file Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. Patients who receive care and refuse ambulance transport or are transported by other means are assessed a 'treat no transport fee'. When a patient is transported by our service, the paramedics will ask for your insurance information. If not immediately available, please call our office as soon as possible with this information. If you do not have health insurance, you may want to check with the local social services office to determine if you might be eligible for assistance. An invoice will be sent directly to you if you do not have insurance. As a courtesy, we will submit all claims with the appropriate insurance carrier for both primary and secondary insurances. It is important to know that for Medicare patients, the primary insurance must consider the claim payable before the secondary will pay on the claim. The insurance carrier maintains the right to deny claims for reasons such as transport that was not medically necessary. If your claim has been denied and our office has the appropriate signature in place, we will request medical records and resubmit the claim if this would substantiate the need for you to have been transported.
Rowan County Ambulance Billing and Collections does not file automobile insurance claims if you are transported following a motor vehicle accident. An invoice will be sent directly to you.
