The Human Resources Department was started on September 1, 1986 with two employees and is now a division of the Department of Administration. Changes we have encountered over the years have included the implementation of new laws, (COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, and ADA) and the implementation of a self insured health plan.  Wellness has become an important program to assist our employees with their health. 

Challenges we expect to face in the future include our need for qualified staff and additional training to deal with a very complex system. Employees continue to desire a work/life balance for themselves and their families.  Health Care will continue to be a challenge with rising costs.  We strive to provide a high level of service to the public and to our employees. Keeping staff informed and trained on the constant changes in employment law and technological advancements is a high priority in order to provide excellent customer service.
