The 6th annual Stories by the Millstream Festival was held on October 7th.  After over 50 days without rain, Mother Nature opened her skies on the day of the festival.  Instead of performing at Sloan Park, the storytellers went into all the schools throughout Rowan County, and treated over 1,700 second graders to the rich tradition of storytelling.  On Friday evening featured storyteller, Obakunle Akinlana, entertained a crowd at the Rowan Public Library to the amusing stories and music of Nigeria.
