| The Friends of Rowan Public Library help make special things happen at RPL.
You might be most familiar with the annual book sale, a great bargain sale with all kinds of books.
You might even know about the Friends' Best Seller Rental program which provides extra copies of best sellers for a low weekly rental fee.
The Friends of Rowan Public Library are that and a whole lot more. They truly do help make things happen at RPL. Some other things the Friends do to make library services better for Rowan County citizens include:

Sponsoring the publication of the library's newsletter, news, etc. |

Sponsoring author visits and other literary programs for the public |

Sponsoring "Literary Road Trips," an exciting literary travel program |

Sponsoring the library's first storytelling festival, which was attended by nearly 2,000 children and adults |

Helping support the children's summer reading program |

Helping support the children's book festival in cooperation with Livingstone College |

Helping support library staff development activities |
|
Sponsoring an ongoing book sale at all library locations |

Providing volunteers to help with various library programs |

Developing and implementing new ideas for the betterment of library services |

Support the Friends of
Rowan Public Library when you shop at Food Lion . Register your MVP card and a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to the Friends each time you shop with your card. It's easy to do online, right now! Simply go to the Lion Shop & Share web page and choose "Friends of Rowan Public Library" as the organization that you want to link your MVP card to. If you would rather not submit this information online, you may print out a Shop & Share Form which can be mailed or submitted in person at any RPL location. |
