Abstract: This collection contains individual school census cards for the Rowan County School census conducted in 1923-1924. Information requested on the cards includes the child's name, sex, race, date of birth, birthplace, the township they attended school at, grade level, parent's or guardian's name, if the child is married, physically defective, deaf, blind, crippled or feeble-minded. There is also a section to specify how the date of birth was fixed: by certificate, bible record, or parent's statement.
