RITA (Rowan Individual Transportation Assistance) is available one day per week for each area of the county. By having designated days, RTS can operate more efficiently to help as many passengers as possible on the same day. For information and sign up information click here.

Rowan Transit System operates two Express routes.

Rowan Express South provides service between Salisbury, China Grove, Landis, and Kannapolis. These routes connect with the Salisbury Transit System, the CK Rider System  (operates in Kannapolis and Concord), the Rowan Express East route and AMTRAK in Salisbury and Kannapolis.  Click here for the current Rowan Express South schedule.

Rowan Express East provides service between Salisbury, Granite Quarry, Rockwell and Faith and also connects with Salisbury Transit and the Rowan Express South. Click here for the current Rowan Express East schedule.

Salisbury Bus - Rowan Transit provides complimentary ADA paratransit service for Salisbury Transit. To sign up for complimentary ADA paratransit service please contact Salisbury Transit at 704-638-5252. For bus schedules and general information go to www.salisburync.gov/transit

The Medicaid Transportation program is administered by the Rowan County Department of Social Services.  If you are a Medicaid beneficiary and you need assistance in accessing transportation to and from medical appointments, please contact the Rowan County Department of Social Services at (704) 216-8896 for an assessment of your transportation needs.  The Rowan County Department of Social Services is located at 1813 E. Innes Street, Salisbury. NC 28146.  The operating hours are 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
