Things you may want to know are:
- The Title V Senior Employment Program is for low-income seniors who are least 55 years of age and reside in Rowan County.
- The goal of the Title V program is to help seniors find regular jobs with better income and benefits.
- If you are interested in the Senior Employment Program, telephone our office for an eligibility interview. For those who meet the basic requirements, an office appointment is made to obtain more information.
- Senior employees are placed with government or non-profit agencies at minimum wage, working part-time (20 to 25 hours per week) for a maximum of two years.
- For illustration, seniors are employed as clerical staff, administrative assistants, recycling aides, building and grounds attendants.
- While employed in the Title V program, seniors are encouraged to continue to look for other employment in the labor market. If they are successful in finding other employment, this program can enroll additional seniors.
