The Rowan County Detention Annex is an indirect supervision facility which opened for occupancy on July 8, 2012. The Annex is located at 400 Grace Church Rd., Salisbury, NC. The facility was designed to house 160 sentenced and pre-trial male inmates. Inmates housed at the Annex are classified as minimum-medium security risk. The Annex houses a medical component, kitchen area, laundry area and various support services. The Annex utilizes a video visitation system for inmates to visit with family and friends while incarcerated. The Annex facility is commanded by a lieutenant and operated by four crews lead by a Master Detention Officer each working a day or night 12 hour rotation.

Four 40 man dormitory style housing units utilized for general housing.
One non contact visitation area utilized for attorney and professional law enforcement visits.
An admission/release area utilized for all inmate transfers in and out of the facility for court and to the main facility.
All inmate transfers and releases are handled at the main jail in Salisbury.
Visitation days and times are the same for the annex as the main jail.
ALL MAIL FOR INMATES AT THE ANNEX FACILITY IS TO BE MAILED TO THE MAIN JAIL AT 115 W LIBERTY ST SALISBURY ADDRESS
The Rowan County Detention Center Annex is located off Hwy 29/Main St approximately 4 miles south of Salisbury and approximately 4 miles north of China Grove. The Annex is located near both the NC Division of Adult Corrections and the NC Highway Patrol Station.
