Rowan County is conveniently situated in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont, approximately two hours from the state's mountains and four hours from its beaches. The County is proud to be the home to the N.C. Transportation Musuem, located in Spencer, as well as to two private liberal arts institutions, Catawba College and Livingstone College. 

With our welcoming climate and a wide variety of museums and cultural offerings, a strong emphasis on history, and plentiful recreation areas, Rowan County offers activities and attractions the whole family will enjoy -- no matter whether you are young or a senior, whether you are single or have a large family.
