Children from birth through rising 5th graders. Reading hours are tracked June 12th through August 7th, and programs run June 12th through July 28th. Prizes are awarded when children complete various activities on their summer activity logs. Children who complete 20 activities receive a special certificate and are entered in the Super Read Raffle held August 10th. Check the calendar for upcoming programs.
Rising 6th graders through rising 12th graders. Reading hours are tracked June 12th through July 27th, and programs run June 12th through July 28th. Teens receive booklets to keep track of points earned by reading, attending teen library programs, and completing activity challenges. These points can be used to earn raffle tickets for prize; drawings for the prizes will take place at the end-of-summer teen lock-in. Check the calendar for upcoming programs.
For individual ages 18 and older (including high school graduates). Rather than formally registering, adults report their reading hours online or by calling a coordinator; reporting equals registration. Programs run June 12th through August 7th. The number of reading hours earned determines eligibility for prize drawings. Some sheets must be turned in to win prizes. Door prizes are awarded at each Adult Summer Reading program. These film events are free and open to the public. Popcorn and lemonade are also served. An adult must accompany children under 9, and for films with a PG-13 rating, an adult must accompany children under 13. Check the calendar for showing times.
