The Rowan County Parks and Recreation Department’s Therapeutic Recreation Division is proud to sponsor its 30th Annual Statewide Visually Impaired Miniature Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held Saturday, April 14th on our two ADA compliant miniature courses at Dan Nicholas Park. The tournament will begin at 10:00am. Each participant will shoot 36 holes of golf.
We expect approximately 80 golfers and 70 volunteers from across North Carolina at this year’s tournament. Volunteers will work as sighted guides to assist the participants with lining up their putts, describing the course, and pointing out obstacles.
Following the tournament will be an awards ceremony. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each sight division as well as for the most holes-in-one in each division. Team trophies will be awarded to the top 2 teams.
Be sure to join us Saturday, April 14th for this fun filled day. Registration for both participants and volunteers close Monday, March 19th at 5pm. The entry fee is $5.00 per person. For more information contact the Therapeutic Recreation Division at 704-216-7780.
