    The Rowan County Sheriff's Office was established in 1753, with the Sheriff as the only officer. The Sheriff's Office now consists of a total of 207 employees of which 121 are Full-time and 20 are Part-time law enforcement officers with 50 Full-time civilian and 16 part-time civilian staff.
