Getting a library card is free and easy. There are two kinds of library cards, a traditional library card and a digital library card. A traditional library card is a plastic card you carry around with you to check out books with or use to access the digital services. A digital library card may be obtained online and is useful for simply accessing digital services. Both will allow you access to digital resources such as those found in NC Live or eBooks.
To obtain a traditional library card, bring a current photo ID with your current address, or first class mail that has been delivered to you at your current address, to one of our locations. A library card is free, and is good for both library and digital services. Just use your card number and PIN to access digital resources. For assistance, please call 704-216-8256.
