Animal Attractions

Dan Nicholas Park is the home of the Rowan County Nature Center and the Rowan Wildlife Adventures. 

The Nature Center has 3 naturalists, a contract veterinarian and a public outreach employee. The center maintains a collection of live North Carolina native animals including non-venomous and venomous snakes, raptors including hawks, owls, falcons, vultures and bald eagles. The mammals include groundhogs, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, black bear, deer and two red wolves.
