Welcome to Rowan County
Located in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state's largest city and its Capitol. Home to many of the state's historic sites, including the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer and the North Carolina Confederate Civil War Prison in Salisbury.
Rowan County is made up of 19 departments that are committed to providing a wealth of services to County residents and businesses. The County is governed by a Board of Commissioners that continually strives to improve services offered to local residents.
