The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for providing technology services for all county departments and assisting them with the efficient delivery of services to the citizens of Rowan County. IT provides support for:
- Software applications
- Phone system
- Audio/video equipment
- Data management
- Online services
- Technology policy implementation
IT is responsible for ensuring a secure and stable enterprise infrastructure that aligns technology with business strategies while providing local and remote technical assistance for over 800 county employees.

Rowan County Information Technology is wholly dedicated to leading technology efforts that support the strategic goals of the County. IT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined business processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction and citizen access to government information and services.

Networking and Client Division with a Network Manager and three Technology Support Analysts that also supports the IT Service Desk for internal incident and service requests.
Business Operations Division
Business Operations Division with a Business Operations Manager and two IT Business Analysts supporting midrange applications, business applications and project management. Global Information System (GIS) services are also provided under this division and include integration of maps and web applications with County departments, governmental jurisdictions and agencies, and the public.
Systems Division with a Systems Manager and Systems Analyst overseeing data storage, server compute and data center infrastructure.
Creative Services Division
