Information Technology

Overview

The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for providing technology services for all county departments and assisting them with the efficient delivery of services to the citizens of Rowan County.   IT provides support for hardware, software applications, phone system, audio/video equipment, data management, online services, and technology policy implementation.   IT is responsible for ensuring a secure and stable enterprise infrastructure that aligns technology with business strategies while providing local and remote technical assistance for over 750 county employees.

Mission

Rowan County Information Technology is wholly dedicated to leading technology efforts that support the strategic goals of the County. IT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined business processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction and citizen access to government information and services.

Functional Areas

Networking and Client Division with a Network Manager and (3) Technology Support Analysts that also supports the IT Service Desk for internal incident and service requests.

Business Operations Division with a Business Operations Manager and (2) Programmer/Business Analysts supporting midrange applications, business applications and project management

Systems Division with a Systems Manager overseeing data storage, server compute and datacenter infrastructure

Creative Services Manager for all online website and social media accounts and policies.
