A Subdivision is the division of a tract of land into two or more tracts of land. Subdivision review by the Planning and Development Department is completed according to the standards set forth in the Rowan County Subdivision Ordinance (PDF).

Subdivision Types

  • Minor Subdivision - Up to 8 lots with no new roads
  • Minor, Special Exception - 3 or fewer lots meeting standards specified in section 22-8
  • Family Subdivision  - Up to 3 lots conveyed to immediate family members
  • Major Subdivision- More than 8 lots and/or with new roads
