FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Rowan County Parks & Recreation cancels 41st annual Autumn Jubilee
Salisbury, NC, July 13, 2020—It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of the 41st annual Autumn Jubilee festival that was scheduled to take place on October 3 & 4, 2020. Our festival has become a staple in Rowan County’s fall season, and this is not a decision that we have taken lightly. Rowan County Parks & Recreation is committed to keeping our vendors, sponsors, entertainers, guests, and staff safe and healthy, and we believe this is the best way to do so given the current situation.
We are grateful for the continued support from our County Commissioners, county leaders, and our community. Our hope is that we come back bigger and better next year. Our festival wouldn’t be what it is today without you all.
For any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the festival, please call 704-216-7815.
This will be the 41st Annual Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicholas Park this year and the planning starts almost as soon as the last one ends. This is an ongoing project preparing for this event. This year’s event is set for October 3 and 4 from 10 AM to 6 PM. It occurs annually the first Saturday and Sunday in October.
Originally, this event was run by the United Arts Council as an arts and crafts show. Later, due to popularity, it was taken over by the County and currently over 60,000 attend this event rain or shine.
A Few Things to Know
When you are making plans to attend the Autumn Jubilee here are a few things that you want to keep in mind:
- Service animals specially trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome; however, no pets are allowed.
- Dan Nicholas Park is tobacco free and alcohol free.
- BRING CASH! There will be an ATM available and vendors may accept cards as well, but you may want to have cash in case the card readers do not work.
- Consider taking Stokes Ferry Road to Agner Road for an easier route into the Jubilee.
