Storytelling Festival

Literary / Storytelling Kid Event
The Stories by the Millstream Festival is an exciting literary event sponsored annually by the Friends of Rowan Public Library. The festival was designed to enrich and stimulate the imagination of Rowan County’s 2nd graders by giving them the opportunity to hear a series of local storytellers as well as a nationally renowned feature storyteller in a park setting. The feature teller is a professional storyteller who performs nationally and brings to the kids a style of storytelling that they may never have the opportunity to see otherwise.

Family Storytelling Concert
In addition to the 2nd grade storytelling event, the Friends of the Library sponsors a 1 hour Family Storytelling Concert at Rowan Public Library with the feature teller that the whole community can enjoy.

Past Events
The 17th annual Stories by the Millstream Festival was held on Friday, September 16th. Connie Regan-Blake was our feature story teller and gave a wonderful performance for the public at our Family Storytelling Concert the evening before on Thursday, September 15th.
