Vaccine Clinics Move to Appointment-Based Model

In a letter released yesterday from Public Health Director Nina Oliver, the Health Department announced it will move to an appointment-based model for vaccines beginning with its first-dose clinic scheduled for Wednesday, January 27.  Vaccine allocations from the state remain low at this time, so Director Oliver urged eligible but healthy and willing citizens to hold off vying for the appointment slots until more are available, or for citizens who are Novant Health patients to focus attempts to seek a vaccination through their clinic.

Online Appointments

A link for making an appointment will be activated on the First Dose Clinics webpage each Monday for making an appointment for the following Wednesday's vaccine clinic.  This link will open SignUp Genius, an online scheduling tool.  You are not required to create an account to make an appointment.  Please review our How to Make an Appointment Guide (PDF) for step-by-step instructions.

Clinics will continue every Wednesday. This is subject to change as we receive new information.

Phone Appointments

Citizens may call the COVID hotline at 980-432-1800, but due to anticipated increased call volume, wait times may be much longer than normal.  Therefore, you should make all attempts to schedule online. Please do not email to schedule an appointment – staff will be unable to do so and will redirect you to the online sign-up process.

You may wish to reach out to your primary care provider for a referral to Novant Health’s vaccination clinic effort, or log into your MyChart account at https://www.novantmychart.org/mychart.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work toward our number one priority of ensuring that all Rowan County citizens that want a vaccine can receive it, while also balancing vaccine supply and abiding by the phased approach provided to us by NCDHHS.
