How About a Family Outing for You and Your Family?

Beginning next week, on April 8th, Rowan County Public Health will begin offering vaccinations to Group 5. This group includes all adults, as well as teenagers ages 16 and older. With the rollout of this new group, what better time than now for those eligible in your family to get vaccinated together!

By making appointments to attend one of our first vaccine clinics as a family, you are taking a major step in protecting those that you love the most from getting sick or dying from COVID-19. Not only are you better protected, but research continues to show that you are also dramatically lowering your chances of infecting others that you come in contact with as well.

Just think what this would mean for your family to be fully vaccinated, especially with the spring-like weather upon us and the possibility of family vacations only a few months away. By doing your part, you would be adding another layer of protection not only for yourself, but your whole family. By doing this, it would soon allow you to gather indoors safely with other fully vaccinated family members without having to wear a mask. Talk about freedom and enjoying those long-awaited hugs that so many of us, especially grandparents, have missed out on over the past year!

In addition to making family history together and doing your part to stop the spread of COVID, Krispy Kreme is currently offering a FREE Original Glazed donut with every vaccination card that is presented. This is their way of showing their appreciation to you for helping to stop the spread of COVID. What a “sweet” way to celebrate with your loved ones; but as you do, still remember to practice the 3W’s out in public and remember “Everything in Moderation!” We, at Rowan County Public Health, not only want you to be COVID-free, but we also want you to be HEALTHY!

If you and your family are interested in receiving your first vaccination, please contact our Call Center at 980-432-1800; Option 1 or visit our website this coming Monday, April 3rdafter 10 am. At that time, you and your family can make your appointments for our next 1st Dose Clinic, which will be held on Thursday, April 8th.  Please note that at this clinic, we will be offering the Pfizer vaccine, which has been proven safe for individuals 16 years and older.
