Summer Cash Cards are Available Today and Tomorrow for Anyone Needing and/or Transporting an Individual That Needs Their 1st COVID Vaccine

Rowan County Public Health continues to partner with NC DHHS to offer $25 Summer Cash Cards at select vaccine sites within Rowan County this week. By doing this, we hope to help offset any time off that is needed to get vaccinated, as well as any transportation costs that may incur.

Even though the rate of COVID-19 still continues to decrease in our community, it is still very important that we get as many of our citizens vaccinated as possible. By getting vaccinated; you will not only help prevent more illnesses and deaths from occurring, you will continue to help strengthen our economy and could eventually help eliminate this pandemic.

Anyone that is at least 18 years old and who still needs to get their first COVID-19 vaccination is eligible to receive a $25 Summer Cash Card, while supplies last. Please be aware, however, that this incentive program is only for first time vaccine recipients. It is not intended for individuals who have not yet received their second dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.

In addition to this, anyone who drives someone to get a vaccination will also receive a $25 cash card. To be eligible for this, you must meet the following criteria:

  • the individual must be at least 18 years old
  • the driver must provide a ride to the vaccine site and a return trip home
  • the driver must sign an attestation form and be accompanied by the individual who received the vaccine
  • the driver may only receive one gift card per trip, even if multiple individuals are transported together to the vaccination site

This afternoon, June 7th  from 3 pm -5pm, Rowan County Public Health (1811 East Innes Street) still has appointments available for anyone needing to receive their first dose of their COVID vaccination. To make an appointment, please call 704-216-8837. Please note that anyone receiving their first COVID vaccine or bringing someone to their 1st COVID vaccine appointment today will be eligible to receive a summer cash card before leaving their appointment.

On Tuesday, June 8th, Novant Health Vaccine Clinic at the JF Hurley YMCA (828 Jake Alexander Blvd. Wet, Salisbury) will be offering the cash card incentive again from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome or you can make an appointment by calling 1-855-648-2248 or by going online at https://care.novanthealth.org/vaccine/

For more information about the Summer Cash Card program, please contact Rowan County Public Health at 980-432-1800, Option 1.
