Rowan County Public Health will be offering a COVID-19 Booster Clinic on Tuesday, November 16th from 9 am to 4pm at the West End Plaza (1935 Jake Alexander Blvd., West, Salisbury) in the old J. C. Penney building. Appointments are recommended and can be made here. However, walk-ins are welcome. Please note that this clinic will only offer booster vaccines; with all three approved boosters being made available.
The Pfizer and the Moderna COVID-19 booster shots are recommended for individuals who received their second dose at least six months ago and who are at high risk for severe illness or exposure based on their age, profession, living setting or health conditions. This includes people who are:
For those individuals that received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 shot, the Johnson and Johnson booster shot is recommended for individuals ages 18 and older who were vaccinated at least two months ago.
In addition to this, it is important that individuals are aware that they can now mix and match their booster vaccine, if they choose to. Recent evidence has shown that both the Moderna and the Pfizer boosters do raise one’s antibody levels more than the Johnson & Johnson booster vaccine. With that being known, we do highly encourage you to speak with your primary care provider or one of our staff if you should have questions about which booster may be right for you and/or your family members.
If you should have any additional questions or need assistance in setting up an appointment, please call 980-432-1800.
