[ARCHIVED] Rowan County Therapeutic Recreation Division Honored for Best New TR Program

Therapeutic Recreation professionals and students from around our state gathered late February in Burlington for the Annual NCRPA TR Conference. This event featured 21 sessions covering a variety of topics from Inclusive Camps, Augmented Reality Gaming - Therapeutic Applications for Pokemon Go and Overcoming Barriers to Marketing your TR programs. This annual gathering provides an opportunity for TR professionals to earn CEUs towards their licensure and certification. With over 90 delegates in attendance, there were times of sharing resources and program ideas. During the Awards Luncheon, the following individuals and programs were honored: Dr. Judy Kinney, UNC-Greensboro received the Research Grant; Adrienne White, UNC-Greensboro received the Student Scholarship; Rukayat Folarin, UNC-Greensboro was selected as the Best TR Intern, Dr. Janet Albers from University of Mount Olive was recognized as the Best TR Instructor and the Best New TR Program was presented to Rowan County Parks & Recreation for their aLL 4 aRTs Theatre Program. Congratulations to all of our winners.
