Rowan County is hosting training for Rowan County Department Directors and elected/appointed municipal leaders on Human Trafficking on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at the J. Newton Cohen Sr. Room located on the second floor of 130 W. Innes Street, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.  The program will feature Nancy Hagan and Margaret Henderson.  County Manager Aaron Church stated, “This is an effort to increase identification of those vulnerable to and exploited by trafficking and heighten awareness among community leaders on how to decrease human trafficking and help victims.”

Dr. Nancy Hagan is the Senior Human Trafficking Analyst for Project NO REST  www.projectnorest.org, a North Carolina statewide project to increase awareness and prevention around human trafficking .  Margaret Henderson is a Lecturer in Public Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Director of Public Intersection Project.  Henderson authored “Human Trafficking in North Carolina:  Strategies for Local Government Officials” in 2017.

This event is limited to County and municipal employees and elected officials.  Only 100 spots are available.  To reserve your attendance go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/training-on-human-trafficking-tickets-68147670517
