Rowan Public Library has added a new central phone number to better assist customers during the 2020 Coronavirus event. The new central line is 980-432-8670. Librarians are available to answer questions Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm. Curbside Service has also been modified; effective Monday, April 13, Curbside Pick up Service will be by advance appointment only, with appointments available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Rowan County is entering a critical stage in our efforts to fight through the risks and illnesses caused by the Corona Virus. Various models and current information tell us that our local situation is not improving as quickly as we need! This weekend and next week are predicted to be the peak for positive cases and health issues. We need to get serious in protecting ourselves, our families, and our community.
When you look at the County COVID-19 Case Information Dashboard (https://bit.ly/rowan-covid19-map) you’ll see important informational numbers. These are not mere numbers…these are real people with real problems right now. If we don’t help our community understand how to fight this war, the people affected by COVID will increase quickly.
Chief Soliz of Rowan County Emergency Services is challenging everyone in our community to share this message with 10 people – today! Share through social media, email, phone, or any other method, but share widely. Tell your friends, co-workers, families to “Stay home this weekend.” This is the single most proven effective method for fighting this battle – let’s get serious about it.
Even if you show no signs of illness, stay home for sake of the nurses and doctors, the police officers, the EMS crews, and the fire departments that are on the front lines. Staying home also reduces their risk.
Holiday weekends are usually times for home improvement projects or gathering with friends. Let me ask you; what’s more important – a nice yard, a fresh coat of paint, hanging out with friends…or your health and safety? We will get back to those things, but for now STAY HOME.
Join us in this challenge!
