First Day Living Under the Modified Stay-at-Home Order
Now in our first day under the modified Stay-at-Home order, the Public Health Command Center would like to offer a few reminders. While Phase 1 of Governor Cooper’s plan has re-opened some businesses and amenities, it is important to remain cautious while away from home.
Phase 1 allows more businesses to be open, but they are limited to 50% capacity. Businesses are also directed to ensure frequent cleaning, social distancing, and employee safety measures are in place. Child care centers are open for working parents or those looking for work. Restaurants remain open for take-out and delivery only.
Another welcome change is being able to gather with friends once again. However, this is still limited to groups of 10 or less and only in outdoor settings. Please remember that there are still concerns for our family, friends, and neighbors who are considered to be high-risk. These include older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions.
In all cases, you are urged to remain vigilant. Remember the 3 W’s: Wear a cloth face covering, Wait 6 feet apart/ avoid close contact, Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer.
Individuals can use the CDC Self Checker guide to make decisions and seek appropriate medical care.
