North Carolina Inclusive Disaster Recovery Network
The NC Inclusive Disaster Recovery (NCIDR) network has developed a Living Document for organizations serving historically under-resourced and marginalized communities. It offers resources and engagement opportunities for organizations supporting under-served communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The North Carolina Inclusive Disaster Recovery Network is a collaboration of public, private, non-profit, and faith organizations seeking avenues for community voice and equitable access to resources in a disaster recovery system.
Talking to Kids about COVID-19
As we move further along and our daily routines are ingrained with the realities of COVID-19, it is important to speak with children with reassurance and education. Here are some tips on how to talk with kids:
- Be calm and reassuring
- Listen and let kids ask questions
- Avoid language that blames others
- Limit screen time on COVID-19
- Provide honest, age-appropriate information
- Teach actions to reduce spread of germs
