The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for providing technology services for all county departments and assisting them with the efficient delivery of services to the citizens of Rowan County. IT provides support for:

IT is responsible for ensuring a secure and stable enterprise infrastructure that aligns technology with business strategies while providing local and remote technical assistance for over 800 county employees.

Mission
Rowan County Information Technology is wholly dedicated to leading technology efforts that support the strategic goals of the County. IT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined business processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction and citizen access to government information and services.
Functional Areas
Networking & Client Division
Networking and Client Division supports the IT Service Desk for internal incident and service requests.
Application Services Division
Application Services Division supports midrange applications, business applications and project management. This division is also responsible for managing all online website and social media accounts and policies, print and digital projects, videography and photography.
Geographic Information System (GIS)
GIS services include integration of maps and web applications with County departments, governmental jurisdictions and agencies, and the public.
Systems Division
Systems Division oversees data storage, server administration, and data center infrastructure.
