At Rowan County Public Health, we are deeply committed to being a driving force in the fight against opioid misuse in North Carolina. We believe in the power of education, outreach, and access to quality care to positively impact individuals and families affected by opioid misuse.
Key Initiatives
Education and Awareness
Empowering our community with knowledge about opioids, addiction, and available resources is a cornerstone of our response efforts. Through workshops, seminars, and educational materials, we aim to equip individuals with the information they need to make informed decisions.
Treatment Access and Support
We work tirelessly to connect individuals struggling with opioid addiction to comprehensive treatment options, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, and recovery support services.
Naloxone Distribution and Training
The distribution of naloxone (Narcan) is a crucial component of our response strategy. This life-saving medication can reverse opioid overdoses, providing a second chance at life. We offer training on effectively administering naloxone.
Community Partnerships
Collaboration is key to our response efforts. We partner with local healthcare providers, addiction treatment centers, law enforcement, and advocacy groups to create a united front against opioid misuse.
