Community Resiliency Model

Building Resilience for a Stronger Community

The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) is a practical, skills-based approach designed to help individuals and communities manage stress, build resilience, and improve overall well-being. Grounded in neuroscience, CRM teaches simple techniques that help people recognize and regulate their nervous system responses, especially in times of stress or adversity.

How CRM Works

CRM focuses on understanding the body's response to stress and trauma and provides tools to restore balance. The model introduces the concept of the Resilient Zone—a state of emotional and physiological balance where individuals can think clearly, make good decisions, and handle challenges effectively. When stress pushes someone outside their Resilient Zone, CRM techniques help them return to a state of stability.
