The Human Resources Department was started on September 1, 1986, with two employees. Our department has grown to include specialists, analysts, and office personnel. A Wellness program has been implemented to assist employees with improving their health and well-being. 

Mission Statement

To be proactive and a strategic provider of quality professional Human Resource Services for Rowan County Government including the development and administration of all personnel policies and procedures, employee recruitment and selection, benefits administration, wellness plan, job classification and compensation, employment law compliance, employee training and development, and employee relations.
