Overview
The Rowan County Board of Commissioners consists of 5 members who are elected at large in countywide elections to serve four-year staggered terms. The Board’s main purpose is to maintain fiscal responsibility while providing mandated services as set out in the General Statutes and for additional services as passed on to the County by state and federal governments.
The Board is also responsible for setting policies, goals and objectives to direct the County's growth and development; adopting and providing for ordinances, rules and regulations as necessary for the general welfare of County citizens and other services deemed appropriate and necessary by the Board.

Professional Background
Commissioner Caskey works as a Police Officer in Charlotte and previously worked for Wachovia for over a decade. He also has several years experience in textiles. Commissioner Caskey served six years in the Army Reserves.
Commissioner Caskey is a graduate of Catawba where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and he also has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Montreat College.
Community Involvement
Commissioner Caskey is a past member of the Rowan Salisbury School Board, the Rowan County Planning Board, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and the Rufty Holmes Board. Commissioner Caskey currently serves on the Rescue Squad Board, the Rowan Public Library Board, Enochville Volunteer Fire Department Board, and the Rufty Holmes Board.
Family
Commissioner Caskey lives in Enochville with his wife Melissa and three children. They attend Piedmont Baptist Church which is also in Enochville.

Professional Background
Greg began his career with State Farm Insurance in the early 80’s as a college intern. After college, he went to work for them full-time in their Regional Office in Winter Haven, Florida. In 1995 he moved to Salisbury to open his own State Farm agency. Greg has received numerous awards from State Farm, including being a multiple recipient of their highest honor, the “President’s Club,” awarded to only the top 50 agents out of over 17,000 nationally.
Community Involvement
Since moving to Salisbury, Greg has been heavily involved in the community. He has served multiple terms on the Chamber of Commerce board and was Chairman of the Board in 2012. He is an active member of the Salisbury Civitans, past member of the Rowan County Planning Board, past member of the Rowan County Personnel Commission, and immediate past chairman of the Rowan County Airport Advisory Board. He is past Chairman of the Rowan County Republican Party and, until recently, served as President of the North Carolina State Farm Political Action Committee. He is an active member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury.
Family
However, the best part of his life, he will tell you, is his family. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for 26 years. They have three children. Their oldest daughter, Taylor, works for State Farm Insurance in Charlotte. Their second daughter, Lauren, is a pre-med student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Their son, Brandon, is studying mechanical engineering at UNC Charlotte.
Greg was successful in his first run for public office, being elected to the Rowan County Commission in November of 2014. Then he was honored by this fellow commissioners to be elected as board chairman.

Commissioner Pierce graduated from North Rowan High School and also attended North Carolina State University’s School of Engineering. He lives in Salisbury with his wife, Melissa, and they have one daughter, Ashley.
Commissioner Pierce has served as a member of the Rowan County Planning Board and as Chairman of the Airport Advisory Board.
Commissioner Pierce has been a local business owner for the past twenty-five years and is serving his second term as a County Commissioner.
