Rowan County Civil Rights Governance

Board & Department Staff

The official applicant for all North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) funding is the Rowan County Board of Commissioners. The Rowan County Transportation Department is the designated Department that is responsible for the administration of the Rowan Transit System (RTS).

Board Representatives

The RTS Advisory Committee is appointed by and serves in an advisory capacity to the Rowan County Board of Commissioners. There are representatives from human service agencies, the general public, local municipalities, and Rowan County Government.

ADA

RTS complies with all legal requirements of Federal and State laws and regulations as they pertain to individuals with disabilities. The transit system provides quality transportation without discrimination to all persons inicuding those with disabilities. The RTS ADA Policy establishes guidlines for the implementation of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the U.S. Deparment of Transportation regulations for implementing ADA and applicable state laws and regulations. Title VI

The Rowan Transit System Anti-Discrimination Policy

The Rowan Transit System operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by any unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with the Rowan Transit System. View the Title VI Plan (PDF).
