Purpose

Rowan County Civic Leadership Academy seeks to welcome, teach and encourage leaders in civic matters. In addition county leadership hopes to learn from civic minded citizens. The core goal for is to ensure that each participant takes the following items from the academy:

  1. Better understanding of County functions and services.
  2. Improving communication between citizens and government.
  3. Learn about current challenges facing our community.
  4. Meet and develop relationships with County Officials (Elected Officials, Administration and Directors).

Eligibility

Resident of Rowan County

Ability to attend 5 of the 8 sessions 21 years of age and over

Application Period

The application deadline is Friday, September 19. Selected applicants will be notified no later than Friday, October 3.

Class Size

20 Citizens per class.

Meeting Schedule

Each Thursday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the J. Newton Cohen Sr. Room of the Administration Building. Dinner will be served.
