Board of Adjustment (BOA)

The Board of Adjustment (BOA) is a quasi-judicial body consisting of five voting members and two alternates appointed by the County Commissioners to hear and decide on appeals and variance requests.  

Meetings

The BOA meets on an as needed basis on the third Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the J. Newton Cohen Sr. Meeting Room on the second floor of the J. Newton Cohen, Sr. Rowan County Administration Building located at 130 W. Innes Street in Salisbury.  View the 2023 BOA Calendar (PDF).

Five members and two alternates are appointed for three-year terms by the Board of Commissioners. Generally meets monthly or as needed.
